Drop-in Center
The Stanislaus PRIDE Center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. We provide an accepting, comfortable place for all members of the community.
We are Here for You
You are invited to come relax, visit, explore, and make new friends. When you stop by, be sure to grab a good book to read and check out the community events bulletin board. The Center is here for you. Come enjoy a community facility that is uniquely your own! We are located in downtown Modesto at 201 Needham Street in the lower level of the Great Valley Center building. We recommend using the side entrance on Elmwood Avenue where our sign and doorbell are posted. Please ring and a volunteer will assist you.
Our Hours
SPC is open Wednesday through Saturday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Don’t let the doors to the Center be closed during drop-in hours (sadly, at times, it happens).
Drop-in hours are for the community, and they need to be run by the community too, if we are to keep them. Email our volunteer coodinator, Tery Powers, at getinvolved@stanpride.org if you can help staff the Center’s drop-in hours.
Meeting Space
We have available meeting space for small groups, up to 15 people. If you would like to use our space for a meeting or event please contact us by phone at 209-338-0855 or send your request by email to info@stanpride.org. Please include the date, time and expected number of attendees in your communication.
Our Library
Research and reading can be done in the Center’s Library, which boasts a collection of 1500+ fiction and non-fiction titles, along with a wide range of magazines and newspapers. We also have a collection of DVDs and videos available for lending. You can check out our materials for FREE!
Computer Lab
We have two computer workstations with high-speed internet available for public use. You can check your email, look for jobs online, or do some research for a school project.
GLBT Information
We have a desk full of literature from local and national GLBT organizations as well as a bulletin board highlighting local workshops, events, and resources for the GLBT community. Come check it out!
